The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were on Sunday night. As to be expected, the fabulous dresses and jewelry stole the show! I love awards shows simply for the amazing fashion. While I would love to discuss pretty dresses, lets stay on topic with jewelry! Here are my top jewelry picks featuring the Pantone color of the year, Emerald! Christina Hendricks, who was nominated for her role in Mad Men, wore emerald jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. Her elegant black gown served as the perfect backdrop to her cocktail ring and chandelier earrings. She finished the look with a stack of color coordinated bangles and a sparkly emerald clutch. Sara Hyland brought emerald trend to the red carpet with her lace dress and dramatic drop earrings. The Modern Family star’s look featured jewels from Lorraine Schwartz as well. Not one to disappoint, Sofia Vergara, who was nominated for her role in Modern Family, really brought the va-va-voom to the show. She wore over 160 carats of ruby’s, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds from Lorraine Schwartz. Her platinum earrings alone weighed in at 100 carats. With a cool $7 million dollar price tag, you have to wonder if she was followed by an armored guard all night long! In another stunning Lorraine Schwartz piece, Maria Menounos host of the entertainment news program Extra wowed. Her strapless navy blue gown and messy fishtail braid were the perfect complement to her diamond and emerald statement necklace. My favorite jewelry of the night, however, was worn by Anna Fairs from the new show Mom. While keeping the rest of her jewelry rather simple, she chose to adorn the back of her sunshine yellow gown with a 19th century emerald and diamond salamander brooch from Fred Leighton. I just love this unique and unexpected touch.
