Since Shipwreck Beads calls Lacey, Washington it’s home, it should be no surprise that many of us here are long time Seattle Seahawks fans.  I for one couldn’t be prouder of our team. As a fan, the energy surrounding this season has been electric.  I have a jersey and all kinds of green and blue gear, lucky of course, doing my part to help the Hawks win. So of course, I had to make some jewelry to wear to the Super Bowl party I’ll be attending this weekend.  If you live in the area, stop into our showroom to pick up some beads in your teams colors (even if you aren’t a Seahawks fan, we won’t hold it against you… much) and make something fabulous to wear to your Super Bowl party!
IMG_0575IMG_0585IMG_0577 IMG_0578 This bracelet was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. I love the look of a layered chunky bracelet.  Similar to the loaded charm bracelet I made for Halloween, this bracelet combines strands of beads and leather and chain for a winning combination.  I made a seed bead mix with blues and greens and silver (6SB412, 6SB469, 6SB279, 6SB684-N, 6SB481-P) and made five 6 inch strands.  I used neon green, neon blue and silver beads to create four different patterned strands.  On some brown leather, I strung some silver square beads and ceramic footballs in different variations.  To add a little extra sparkle, I added some rhinestone chain and some leftover silver rolo chain I had in my studio.  All of these strands (22 separate strands total) were then connected to the d-ring clasp with jump rings.

When the Seahawks take the field on Sunday to battle it out with the Broncos, I for one will be styling with my new bracelet.  Have you whipped up any gear to show your team spirit this football season?  Be sure to share it on our Facebook page or on Instagram using #Shipwreckbeads!

I used to live in Pierce County, for 12 years, but am now back in coastal Massachusetts. I was rooting for the Hawks from afar…I made a memory wire bracelet in their colours. Although I will admit that I don’t much care for the lime green they’ve adopted. I really liked the darker green they used to have.
