Last night was the 86th annual Academy Awards show, the pinnacle of the awards show season. As expected, the ladies donned their gorgeous gowns and piled on the diamonds. I’ll admit, I don’t actually watch the awards show itself but the hours of red carpet coverage? I’m all about that. I love looking at the clothes and the shoes and of course, the jewelry! Below, I have included my 10 favorites from the night.
Oscar winner and nominee Jennifer Lawrence wore a Neil Lane necklace with over 100 carats and worth over $2 million dollars. Her backwards facing jewels perfectly accented her eye-catching red Dior gown.
Sandra Bullock’s side swept hair put her beautiful Lorraine Schwartz earrings on full display.
First time Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o looked enchanting in her ice blue Prada gown. She accented her dress with vintage gold jewelry from Fred Leighton, including a frog ring she described on the red carpet as being her family’s “totem” and a delicate gold and diamond head band.
Viola Davis wore matching Lorraine Schwartz diamond cuffs on each wrist.
Jewelry designer Chimento custom made this necklace for Oscar performer Idina Menzel to wear with her deep green Vera Wang gown.
Amy Adams’ Tiffany & Co. earrings feature an array of beautiful gemstones including Rhodochrosite, Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, and of course, diamonds!
Charlize Theron looked flawless in her black Dior gown and stunning Harry Winston diamond necklace.
While Olivia Wilde’s best accessory of the night was her baby bump, her long drop earrings, stacked bangle bracelets and cocktail ring by Lorraine Schwartz came in a close second. She was my personal favorite of the night.
Last night’s Best Actress winner Cate Blanchett was a winner on the red carpet as well. She paired these incredible opal and diamond chandelier-style earrings by Chopard with her intricately beaded Giorgio Armani gown.
It’s always a treat when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt walk the red carpet and last night was no exception. She wore a glittering beaded gown by Elie Saab Haute Couture and whopping 42 carat diamond earrings made by Robert Procop, the same jewelry designer who created her magnificent engagement ring.
What did you think of the 86th Academy Awards show last night? Were you as awed by the fashion as I was?
